A Net-Driven Federated Database Architecture for Massive Data Aggregation and Brokering for Distributed Applications
This white paper describes a Net-Driven
Federated Database Architecture for Massive Data
Aggregation and Brokering (NET-DAM). This underlying architecture
supports Data Handling, Real-Time Data Analysis and Data Mining using an
Object-based Framework to aid truly Distributed Applications.
The crux of software applications are
almost always data-handling processes that model real-world objects and
their interactions. However, getting two people to agree on a single
design representation of data for any significant problem is quite
difficult. The ever-changing problem specifications and business
scenarios make this a tougher nut to crack. Multiple data sources,
storage entities and formats add another level of complexity to this
issue.
A Net-Based Federated Database Architecture which
can bring multiple systems together under one flag with Consistent
Semantics and Unified Query Mechanism, while Allowing
for Specialization, is one of the most important
areas yet to be significantly addressed in Software Engineering.
